Anti-Spyware Programs
A broad term for programs designed to remove or block spyware. Almost all antispyware applications feature a scanning engine, which detects suspicious items and removes them from the infected machine. Some applications also include a real-time-protection module, which alerts users when suspicious programs attempt to install themselves and gives them the opportunity to deny them. Many antivirus firms have added anti-spyware features to their existing anti-virus products.
